Fascination of sound and nature.

A unique combination of music, visuals and brilliant imagination of language and poetry. Excellent for relaxing moments, the visuals  are created under the meditative music of semi-classical compositions and magical ethnic vocals on the basis of Fascinating Nature trilogy by Gogol Lobmayr. All coming together to make a dreamlike atmosphere – one great big piece of art.

Genre: Documentary / Music / Experimental
Country: United Kingdom / United States

A poetic cinematic meditation on an extraordinary life without vision.

Gary Tarn explores the story of Hugues de Montalembert, a New York-based artist and filmmaker who was blinded by a vicious, unprovoked attack by two young assailants in 1978. After the attack, Montalembert learned to cope with his despair and to go through life a new way, seeking to make ordinary things extraordinary. Defying expectation, this remarkable artist continued to travel the world alone, learning to navigate life in a new and beautiful way. Through creative imagery and philosophical narration, director and composer Gary Tarn creates an expressionist, poetic meditation both on an extraordinary life without vision, and on the idea of perception in general.

The alien and the human being always can understand each other if there will be a good will.

The film has no dialogue in any language. All communication is made using music, gestures and gazes; the alien also tries to communicate by shapeshifting. Director Vladimir Tarasov explored this theme of universal communication in his other films; he considered animation “the Esperanto of all mankind”.
